Fernbank lies in Perthshire in the heart of Scotland and is also known as the gateway to the Highlands. The cottage is only approximately an hours drive and an hour and a half drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively.
Fernbank is in close proximity to a number of historical landmarks including the crowning place of Scottish Kings, Scone Palace and Glamis Castle, the childhood home of the late Queen Mother. If you’re looking to learn more about our heritage then Stanley Mills tells the story of the cotton mills situated on the River Tay whilst Verdant Works recounts the rise and dominance of the jute industry in the city of Dundee.
Perthshire is home to a number of golf courses with it claimed that King James IV of Scotland first introduced golf to Scotland in Perth! The world famous Old Course, St Andrews is just a 45 minute drive away with Gleneagles and Carnoustie also a short drive away.
Perthshire is also home to some stunning scenery with many enjoying walking, wildlife or just the views themselves.
